Fairy Light Jar

What it's "suppose" to look like
fairy jar
What ours looked like
For a few hours anyway. Once the glow ran out that was it. No recharging, no reglowing.

The instructions were to cut the ends of glow sticks ~messy~ and splatter the inside of the jar then sprinkle in some glitter and voila. Well the glitter stuck in globs around the jar and most everything settled in the bottom of the jar eventually. ~I had the bright idea of trying to make a patriotic one using red and blue glow sticks completely forgetting that mixing the two would create purple~

Verdict- Didn't work. So I thought use glow paint! we splattered paint around the inside of the jar and put them in the light AND... didn't work. Light didn't go through the glass or something, I have no idea. So now the kids have jars with paint spattered all over the inside that do nothing else but look goofy.

Solution- Glow paint the OUTSIDE of a jar ~messy but effective~ Haven't actually tried this yet, but I intend to. If the glow paint is suppose to glow then it should work... Right? I also like the idea of painting luminaries and maybe just putting twinkle lights inside for the kiddies.

Welcome

Well here goes. Another attempt at blogging. *nervous face*

If you are anything like me you are obsessed with Pinterest, and if you are like most people this pretty much sums it up-
pinterest

I like to actually attempt the things that I pin. Of course, I am one of many who spends more time pinning than actually creating, but I have tried several things so far. Some really awesome things and some not so awesome things. I wanted to share my experience with all of you so maybe you can save yourself the "oooh should I do it? Is it going to work? Will it turn out right?"

I hope you find this blog helpful and please share your experiences and experiments too!
